Stretching

Stretching

We often forget that stretching is an important part of keeping our bodies fit and healthy.

I often find that those of us who do a physical job or cycle or walk to work don’t consider this as exercise and therefore do not see it necessary to stretch out the used muscles after a day at work or after a physical commute.

Similarly, jobs involving repetitive movements or sustained postures over long periods of time can also lead to muscle overuse and shortening, something which good stretching can help to combat.

It is therefore important that we remember that having a good stretch on a daily basis could help to maintain and promote movement in our bodies reducing the risk of stiffness that can lead to so many other musculoskeletal issues.

The British Osteopathic Association have a great link showing some exercises and stretches for a healthy spine http://www.osteopathy.org/P8GLLX95581.

Colette has been amazing at helping with this, and was able to diagnose that the feeding issues were related to tightness due to circumstances during the birth.
