As infants develop and become more mobile, we are often asked to use osteopathy to help with muscular tensions and postural issues. Toddlers tend to be more prone to falls and minor injuries that may cause strains to their musculoskeletal systems.
All the Courtyard osteopaths have experience providing paediatric osteopathy for toddlers and children, babies and teenagers too. We’re more than used to clients who don’t want to sit still!
How can osteopathy help toddlers and children?
We have many young patients who have benefited from paediatric osteopathy for a range of conditions and symptoms. For example:
- Difficulty relaxing
- Digestive problems
What to expect on your osteopathic visits
Most of our clients in this age range will benefit from gentle techniques like cranial osteopathy.
All of the techniques used in paediatric osteopathy are soft, safe and non-manipulative. They tend to involve the application of very gentle pressure to different parts of their body, releasing tension and removing sources of strain.
All of the Courtyard Osteopaths have extensive training and experience in applying these techniques.
Clients in this group often need plenty of distractions to allow treatment to take place. We have lots of toys and books to help you entertain your children. Plus, you can bring along any favourite toys for extra comfort.
' Sally from the Courtyard Osteopaths has transformed my daughter’s interactions with family! Couldn’t recommend more highly. I wish we had taken her sooner. '
